It all started over 40 years ago when, as a newcomer to Arcola, my husband introduced me to a local lady who turned out to be a very influential person in my horse life! Cathy taught me many tips in my novice years, and together we pursued a passion for trailriding. We enjoyed many miles before she passed away after a brief illness. Please read "In Memory of Cathy". I live in Arcola, IL with my husband Randy. I recently retired from a teaching career, and my husband is also retired after years being the principal of Arcola Jr/Sr High School. We have two daughters; our oldest graduated with honors from the U of I College of Business and is working out of state as a financial manager. She recently got engaged to a wonderful man. Our youngest is a full-time dental hygienist working for an area dental firm. We now have a darling grandson whom we find a real thrill! Blake is his grandpa's buddy. My equine family consists of a gelding Quiz and and a filly K.D. I recently lost my purebred Sahanad black Arabian gelding named Little Man. I owned LM for over almost 11 years. Together we did quite a few trail rides, parades, and "road" miles since then. Little Man was a certified Search & Rescue mount. Unfortunately, Little Man suffered a very serious health issue and we ended up losing him 2 1/2 years later. Right before leaving for CO July 2007, I happened to see a horse advertised that caught my eye. It was a cute Morab named Quiz that has Sahanad bloodlines on the Arab side! Quiz has already been my co-captain on a huge ground search, but has also proved to be an exceptional partner in several clinics we've been to with a professional trainer. The newest addition to the barn is a 4 year old Quarab filly named K.D. For more about my horses, see my page "Horses Past & Present".
