Their Story,
as written (and updated) by Heather

A girl and her friend went out to sing and play guitar with some new friends.  The tall, quiet girl was ready for a new challenge.  The young friend had big dreams.  There was one, a young blond, energetic guy on drums; another was a dark-haired, quiet one on bass; the other, a tall, sandy-blond strumming his guitar.  It was a warm day and a new beginning.  The girl was asked to stay and sing a while longer.

Days passed, about a month, and the sandy-blond guitar player came to visit the girl and go for a ride.  It was a short, tragic ride that ended in months of recovery.  But the tragedy brought more than pain and frustration.  It brought joy and restoration.  There was a connection now between this girl and guy, although they did not know it.

Autumn passed and the snows came—lots and lots of heavy, white snow.  This was no ordinary snow.  This was the snow that opened eyes and hearts for the girl and guy, because this extraordinary snow had trapped them inside, far from civilization or distractions, although they had never spoken of more than ordinary things.

That didn’t last long and the girl and guy began to see more of what everyone else had seen way before.  They continued to make music together and the other new friends.  February came; time for the girl to leave to go to school.  The guy was sad; the girl was sad, but it was time to go.

Then summer came and they were together at last—at least every other day—and the connection was stronger than either had imagined it could be.  And there was friendship and differences and similarities and fun and above everything else, there was love.

It was now a whole year later and the girl and guy went to celebrate in the place they had first met, where their beginning had begun.  The guy had planned carefully and hid his nervousness well.  The girl was happy to have a guy who had thought so much of their first meeting, only one year earlier.

They had a picnic, and the guy decided to play his guitar.  He had written a song for the girl and she knew every word because she had requested of him to play it many times before.  She knew every word until the end.... and they were the words she had waited for since the time she knew she could spend the rest of her life with the guy.  The guy wanted the girl to be with him forever and it only took the girl a split second to answer, knocking the guy over with her embrace and happy tears.  He slid a sparkling ring onto her finger and their destiny was sealed.  They would be together forever.  They prayed for God’s wisdom and endurance and blessings for happiness and health and life.  And they believed He would provide what they needed in the future.  A new beginning again for the girl and her guy was now begun.  Just one year earlier they never saw it coming, but now it was clearer than ever.  They were meant to be.

Now the day is here with another new beginning with their friends and family to celebrate with them.  Two lives will be one, two hearts put together by God’s hand.  The girl stands in white and looks across the room to her guy with the sparkle in his eye as she walks down the aisle.  You maybe thought this would be the end of the story, but it is only the beginning.  The beginning of the life together for this girl and guy.  They would be spending the rest of their lives together; the guy named craig and his girl, heather.
