| Well, no, Ronnie Milsap
didn't actually say that when I got on his tour bus, but that would have
been funny, wouldn't it?! ("Stranger in My House" was a big hit for him
-- one of his 40 #1 hits. But you knew that, right? RIGHT?!?!)
I first talked to Ronnie Milsap on the phone for an interview for the Journal Gazette/Times-Courier. It was an awesome interview -- he talked about his friendship with Ray Charles. See the story here. He invited me to meet him at his local July 4, 2004, concert. As far as I know, I am the ONLY person who got to meet him! The security guy told me several times how amazed he was that I was getting to meet him, because there was no meet-and-greet planned. How cool is that? So anyway, Ronnie told me they'd just gotten in from Reno, Nev., and they'd been up all night. Despite that, he was extremely nice and he signed a copy of my story. I don't have any photos of me on his bus, but here are some of me hovering around him before the concert. |
